McKinley Solutions’ work for Ontario Cycling began through a typical RFP procurement process.  Over 12 firms submitted bids to complete Executive Search services aimed at replacing the CEO/President of the organization. McKinley’s ability to demonstrate years of experience and depth in the sports and non-profit sector were two contributing factors that lead to them being awarded the project.

• From over 100 candidates, McKinley Solutions managed the process down to 10 first round candidates, and 3 final round candidates.
• McKinley employed a case-based approach for the final selection round, which  allowed the OCA committee to understand the candidates’ thinking styles, behaviour and approach.
• The process involved psychometric assessments for all candidates and key senior staff in helping gauge and establish “fit”. This process is now in place across the entire organization.

As a result of the success of the search process, the successful candidate is now leading and modernizing the organization into a modern sports organization.

McKinley has gone on to work with Ontario Cycling staff on professional development, assessments, organizational design and performance development at the operational level (staff) and governance level (board).
